WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

You are eligible if you are:

A person who is frail aged or a carer of a person who is frail aged;

or a person with a disability who requires support and assistance;

or a person who cares for an adult or child with a disability.

WHO ARE WE?

Bega Valley Home Modification and Maintenance Services (HMMS) are part of the HACC (Home and Community Care) Program, jointly funded by State and Federal Governments.

WHAT IS OUR AIM?

Bega Valley Home Modification provides modification and some maintenance work for people who are frail aged, people with disabilities and their carers so they may live independently in the community and remain in their homes longer until higher level care is required. The major emphasis is on access, safety and independence.

What will it cost me?

If you agree to work being done for you, there is a financial contribution expected that is determined by the size of the job.

We will discuss that before you agree to the work.

Home Modifications

Minor Modifications recommended by an Occupational Therapist include:

supply and installation of grabrails
supply and installation of handrails
supply and installation of hand held showers
access modifications such as ramps, step wedges, easy steps and paths to suit individual needs
lever taps
widening doorways

Major Modifications recommended by an Occupational Therapist include:

access modifications such as ramps
bathroom modifications
kitchen modifications
safety modifications

Home Maintenance - Safety & Access

Bega Valley Home Modification & Maintenance Service provide some maintenance work relating specifically to safety and access e.g. repairing a set of stairs that may not be safe.
